NOTICE OF GCF SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING 

Notice is hereby given of a Special General Meeting of the Graduate Christian  Fellowship of FOCUS (Fellowship of Christian University Students) to be held on  Sunday 29th August 2021 at 11.30 am via Zoom, coinciding with the GCF Virtual Camp 2021. 

The agenda is as follows: 

1. Tabling of proposed new constitution of the Graduate Christian Fellowship

2. Clarifications and discussion of the new constitution  

3. Adoption of the new constitution  

We hope that you will join us as we seek to introduce the new constitution to bring the  GCF within the new framework created by the proposed FOCUS by-laws. The Zoom  link for the meeting will be circulated shortly, along with further information about the  camp.

Ollie Robison’s tweets, forgiveness, and the church

Ollie Robinson made his debut for England in the recently concluded 1st Test against New Zealand. He had an excellent outing, with a match haul of 7/101 and having scored 42 runs in the first innings. However, during the test, several racist and sexist tweets he had made in the past surfaced, and overshadowed his performance. He made a public apology after Day 1 of the Test, and has been suspended by the English Cricket Board (ECB) until a decision is taken on his conduct.  The tweets concerned were posted in 2012 and 2013, when Robinson was a teenager.

Reunion Gathering

There will be a 'Reunion Gathering' of GCF members who graduated before the year 2000.  Meeting of other cohorts will follow later.

It will be on Zoom on Saturday 5th June from 5 pm to 6 pm Sri Lanka time.
